Our vision for the Margaret Street Church Centre is to see it develop into a multi-purpose sustainable modern community centre; a social space where good things happen; a contact point and a bridge to those outside the church; a safe place of refuge and resource.
The ProVision project is currently exploring possible uses, modernisation and development potential for the existing structure. In the building’s previous era as a Working Men’s Club, it was used for all kinds of celebrations and family events. The project would like to see the centre restored as a valuable and accessible resource to the local community with its full potential realised.
Significant renovation work has been undertaken since the building was purchased in 1996. A charitable youth organisation currently rent office space in the building. The building is in a usable state and visitors are surprised by the size of the rooms and the pleasant atmosphere. It has often been described as something of a ‘Tardis’ given the relatively small frontage compared to what lies behind!
Visitors are always welcome.
