Services

The church meets weekly on a Sunday evening 4pm for a time of teaching, worship and prayer. Services have changed to 4pm from 6:30pm to be more 'family friendly', allowing young ones to get food and sleep in good time for school/playschool the next day. The format of the services is quite loosely structured so each week is different with different members of the church taking an active part. Some weeks we have a café style seating and other times can be more formal. Approximately once a month our Sunday evening is a prayer and praise night, and we pray about local and national issues.

Little Church

Little Church is held every Sunday except for the 3rd Sunday of each month, which is Big Church - a family oriented service. The Sunday after each Big Church begins a new topic/theme for Little Church. After 10 minutes or so in a normal service, usually after the notices, the children go out to another room where they engage in themed crafts, singing, story telling, prayers and snack time, with experienced, CRB checked members. Little Church continues for as long as the service. Please see Shirley for any queries or suggestions.

Dress Down Sunday

Each month, on the 4th Sunday of the month, we will have an informal gathering in place of the 4pm service, probably in the church lounge. Each house group will take it in turns to devise the format. During this session the children will have a supervised games/fun time in the Little Church Room.

Small Groups

Sunday mornings with James and Lauren in the Church Lounge 10.15am, and Thursday evenings with Ian and Diane at Jenny and Tim’s house 8pm. Please contact the leadership for further information.

There are currently no prayer meetings as we are holding Small Group meetings instead.

Bible Study

There are currently no Bible study meetings as we are holding Small Group meetings instead.

Mid week Meetings

We meet during the week in people’s homes for more in-depth teaching on what it means to have a personal faith in Jesus. These evenings are advertised through our Sunday services.

History

The church began meeting together as a house–group in 1992. This soon developed into a church in its own right, which met weekly at the Adult school on Bridge Road in Coalville. The church moved into the current premises in Margaret Street in 1998

Leadership

The church now has a leadership of seven. Martin Priestnall became the pastor of the church in January 2004.

What we Believe:

  • The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God
  • The eternal Living God revealed Himself as One co-existing in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • Jesus was born from a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, was bodily resurrected and will return again
  • Man has been sinful since Adam and Eve first sinned
  • Salvation (new birth) is through faith in Jesus Christ and acceptance that he died for our sins and was raised from the dead

Charitable Status

Margaret Street Church is a registered Charity No 1051891 in fellowship with Assemblies of God Incorporated.
