Our Vision
We believe that the following word from the Old Testament prophet Isaiah is our Vision and mandate from God; that it will be our strength, foundation and motivation for years to come and that everything we do and aim for should conform to this word and be measured by it:
"Your lives will begin to glow in the darkness; your shadowed lives will be bathed in sunlight. I will always show you where to go. I'll give you a full life in the emptiest of places - firm muscles, strong bones. You'll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You'll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community liveable again." (Isaiah 58 v11-12 The Message)
Our church will be at the heart of the community, expanding with new people and full of active, fulfilled, working, serving Christians reaching Coalville and the wider community. The church will be resourcing individuals to make a difference as this word is fulfilled.
Our Strategy
The church has developed a strategy to 2010 focussing on the following themes:
-
Advertising and Evangelism - The church will become more well-known in the local area as we relate to and are recognised by the local community, both outside and within the building.
-
Building Church Family - It is important that every individual coming into the church is welcomed and accepted and that they have opportunities to join the local church family. People will enter an environment in which they feel safe and comfortable, and are kept informed.
-
Spiritual Journey - Innovative opportunities for study and development of our faith will be provided through a variety of creative activities and interactive worship. The church will be an inclusive environment in which everyone is encouraged to play their part and work out their Christian faith both individually and together.
-
Realise the Vision for Church Unity - To seize the blessings of God for the town, the church will seek to increase the quality of its connections with other local churches. We will actively seek to overcome denominational boundaries.
-
The ProVision Project - Our building is recognised as a greatly under-used town-centre building that has huge unrealised potential. The ProVision project will seek to create a thoroughly modern, sustainable building, once again at the heart of, and fully used by, it’s surrounding community and those further afield.
